Social Report

General Business
Anzac Day: As in previous years, the President said that he would seek the assistance of Cadets to carry the RMA banner. Maj. Pat Dunlevie said he would check with Harry, President of the RSL, for young Nicholas to play the 'Last Post' and 'Reveille' on the Sunday before Anzac Day at the Parade and Service to be held at the Clock Tower Memorial, Ringwood.
Discussion arose about the Memorabilia of the RMA: This had been housed at the Museum at Wonthaggi, but as David Walters needed the space it was decided to move it to Hallam, but this did not eventuate. Bert Attwood very kindly offered two rooms in his Glen Waverley home for the safe keeping of the Memorabilia. Many thanks to Danny Allen undertaking to move all this by himself, with the exception of certain items moved to Moe under the care of Peter Beasley, CEO of No.2 Commando Unit. The President has made all necessary contacts for the move to occur on 26th Feb.2009.
Please note: The next two meetings will be held on Sundays 1st March and 29th March 2009.
The meeting closed at 14.10 hours.
Bush Fire Report: Kathleen Woodford's daughter Liz was the only woman in King Lake who stayed to save her house. The CFA highly commended her for her courage. The President has written a full report about her ordeal for the Globe & Laurel.
Ted Ludbrook reported that if the wind had changed, he would have lost everything! Surely,he was one of the lucky ones!
